Recipe by Maizy Pinto
Ingredients:
1 kg boneless beef
4 large potatoes (sliced and put into salt water)
4 large onions (sliced)
2 tbsp pepper powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 kg boneless beef
4 large potatoes (sliced and put into salt water)
4 large onions (sliced)
2 tbsp pepper powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp sugar
Steps:
Steps:
-
Cut the meat into large chunks and wash.
-
In a pressure cooker, add the meat along with pepper, chilli, garam masala, turmeric powder, salt, ginger garlic paste, soy sauce and Worscestershire sauce and 2 - 3 cups of water (water should be 2 inches above the beef). Mix well and cook for 25-30 whistles, depending on the meat (see notes)
Once the meat is cooked, take it out, slice it and keep aside. The broth from the cooked meat has to be reduced on the gas till it is thickened and resembles a sauce consistency. - In a pan, shallow fry the potatoes and keep aside.
- In the same oil as the potatoes, fry the sliced meat and keep aside.
- In the same pan, fry the onions till light brown.
- Pour the beef sauce, the fried beef and potatoes into the pan. Taste and adjust salt if needed.
- Add 1/2 tsp sugar. Mix well.
- ENJOY!
- After 1-2 whistles, cook on low flame for 30 to 45 minutes, wait for 1 or 2 more whistles and turn the gas off. This way you save energy and the meat cooks with the pressure that's in the cooker.
