Beetroot (or carrot) Thoran - Oreen

Ingredients:
500 gms carrot OR beetroot (grated broad or cut into tiny pieces)
1/2 cup urad dal
1 tsp hing
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
1 sprig curry leaves
1/2 - 1 cup grated coconut

Steps:
  1. In a vessel, heat oil.
  2. Add hing, urad dal, curry leaves, carrot/beetroot, grated coconut, turmeric, grated coconut and fry together till beetroot is cooked.
  3. Give it a good mix.
  4. ENJOY!
Notes:
Variation: Add 1 tsp pepper powder or 1 tsp jeera powder when cooking.
