Ingredients:
500 gms beef or lamb mince
2 medium potatoes (cut in small cubes)
1 cup green peas
2 large onions (chopped small)
1" ginger (chopped)
1 green chilli (chopped)
2 tomatoes (chopped)
1" cinnamon
3 cloves
handful of coriander leaves
1-2 tbsp bafat powder
salt to taste
1 tsp sugar (optional)
2-3 tbsp ghee
Steps:
- Wash the mince and squeeze the water well so it is dry. Keep it aside.
- In a vessel, heat ghee.
- Add the onions, green chillies and ginger and fry till onions become translucent.
- Add tomatoes and fry till tomatoes are cooked.
- Add cinnamon, cloves and bafat powder and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the kheema and mix very well. Cook covered on low flame without adding water. If required, add 2 tbsp water.
- When kheema is 90% cooked, add salt and mix well.
- Add potatoes and green peas and mix well. Cook covered for 7-8 minutes.
- Check for salt and bafat powder - adjust if needed.
- Add 1 tsp sugar (optional) and mix well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
