Beef or Lamb Kheema - Maizy Aunty

Ingredients:
500 gms beef or lamb mince
2 medium potatoes (cut in small cubes)
1 cup green peas
2 large onions (chopped small)
1" ginger (chopped)
1 green chilli (chopped)
2 tomatoes (chopped)
1" cinnamon
3 cloves
handful of coriander leaves
1-2 tbsp bafat powder
salt to taste
1 tsp sugar (optional)
2-3 tbsp ghee

Steps:
  1. Wash the mince and squeeze the water well so it is dry. Keep it aside.

  2. In a vessel, heat ghee. 
  3. Add the onions, green chillies and ginger and fry till onions become translucent.
  4. Add tomatoes and fry till tomatoes are cooked.
  5. Add cinnamon, cloves and bafat powder and fry for 2 minutes.
  6. Add the kheema and mix very well. Cook covered on low flame without adding water. If required, add 2 tbsp water.
  7. When kheema is 90% cooked, add salt and mix well. 
  8. Add potatoes and green peas and mix well. Cook covered for 7-8 minutes.
  9. Check for salt and bafat powder - adjust if needed.
  10. Add 1 tsp sugar (optional) and mix well.
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves.
