Ingredients:
1 kg beef
2 onions (thinly sliced)
10 - 15 curry leaves (cut into 2)
1/2 coconut (grated)
ghee + oil
For grinding:
12 red byadgi chillies
3-4 red round chillies (motwi mirsaang)
3 cloves garlic
2 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp jeera
4-5 peppercorns
1" cinnamon
5 cloves
7-8 methi seeds/fenugreek
lime size tamarind
Steps:
- Pressure cook the beef with salt until soft and keep aside.
- Dry roast the red chillies, coriander seeds, jeera, pepper corns for about 30 seconds.
- Grind the dry roasted red chillies, garlic, coriander seeds, jeera, pepper corn, cinnamon, cloves, methi seeds and tamarind into a fine paste. Keep aside.
- In a vessel, heat ghee and oil.
- Add the onions and fry well till golden.
- Add the curry leaves and fry.
- Add the ground masala and fry.
- Add the cooked beef with the broth and mix well.
- Add the grated coconut and mix well. Cook till the water evaporates.
