Ponsache Gariyos (Jackfruit Fritters) - Lilly Voni

Ingredients:
1 cup jackfruit (de-seeded)
1 cup raw rice/surai tandu
1 piece of jaggery (optional)
1/4 tsp pepper powder (or 3-4 pepper corns)
3/4 cup grated coconut
pinch of salt
oil for deep frying






Steps:

  1. Wash and soak the rice for 3 hours
  2. Completely drain the rice and grind it along with the jackfruit pieces, jaggery, salt and pepper powder to a fine paste without using water.
  3. The batter should be dry-ish, like dosa batter.
  4. Once ground, add grated coconut.
  5. In a deep dish, heat oil for deep frying. 
  6. Make balls with the batter and fry well.
