Ingredients:
1 kg chicken with skin (preferably thighs)
1 kg chicken with skin (preferably thighs)
To marinate:
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 tsp pepper powder
To cook the dish
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 cloves garlic (chopped)1/2 tsp pepper corns
3 bay leaves
salt (optional - soya sauce has salt already)

Steps:
- Wash the chicken and add slits and drain excess water.
- Marinate chicken with skin with pepper powder and vinegar for at least 1 hour.
- In a pan, heat oil.
- Add chicken and fry till chicken is half cooked. Keep the chicken aside.
- Add the chopped garlic and lightly fry.
- In a vessel, add the half cooked chicken and fried garlic with the soy sauce, pepper corns and bay leaves.
- Cook covered on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally till the chicken is fully cooked.
- Serve with steamed rice.
