Ingredients:
1 kg crab ( cleaned and cut in to 2 pieces each)
4 medium onions (sliced)
1 long green chilli
1.5" ginger (chopped)
10 cloves garlic (chopped)
4 medium tomatoes (chopped finely)
1 tbsp pepper powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp oil
2 tsp ghee
1 1/2 tsp salt
vinegar or tamarind water
Steps:
- In a vessel, heat oil and ghee. Add onions and saute for 2 minutes on medium flame.
- Add ginger, garlic and chilli and saute for 2 minutes. Don't burn.
- Add tomatoes and pepper powder and saute for 3-4 minutes till tomatoes are soft. If it becomes dry, add 2 tbsp water.
- Once tomatoes are cooked, add 1/2 cup water, salt and vinegar and stir.
- Add crabs and keep stirring for 5-10 minutes till crabs are cooked.
- Turn off the flame and keep covered.
