Chicken and Veggies with Tomato Paste - Jean

Ingredients:
1 kg chicken (washed, cut into medium size pieces and cleaned)
2 tomatoes (cut round)
2 potatoes (cut round)
3 onions (cut round)
2 carrots (cut round)
2 capsicums (cut round)
1 lemon (cut round)
2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp jeera powder
1 1/2 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 packet or 100 gms tomato paste
salt to taste
oil

Steps:

 


  1. In a large deep non stick vessel, heat oil.
  2. Reduce to low flame and add the chicken pieces at the bottom.
  3. Add half the quantity of spices, salt and tomato paste on top of the chicken. 
  4. Add the cut vegetables in layers. 
  5. Add 1/4 cup water and the rest of the spices, salt and tomato paste.
  6. Cook covered on low-medium heat for half an hour. Mix well.
