Recipe by Ivan Pereira
Ingredients:
350 gms corned beef or 2 tins tuna
2 large onions (finely chopped)
1 medium tomato (finely chopped)
1 1/2 " ginger
6-8 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 green chili (finely chopped)
3 tbsp bafat powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
3-4 tbsp tomato paste
oil
salt to taste
vinegar to taste
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves *(optional)
Steps:
- In a large pan, heat oil.
- Add onions and fry till lightly brown.
- Add ginger, garlic and green chili. Fry for 2 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Add tomatoes, tomato paste and mix well. Fry till tomatoes are cooked.
- Reduce the flame. Add bafat powder, turmeric and a few drops of water. Mix well.
- Slowly add in the corned beef/tuna and keep mixing till the corned beef/tuna is fried.
- Add salt and vinegar if desired.
- Mix in the coriander leaves.
- Serve with toasted bread, chapatis or rice.

- When the onion is fried, move it to the side and add the corned beef to another quarter of the pan and let it fry at the same time as it leaves a bit of fat on to the pan.
