Dry Fish (suki masli) Curry - Cellu

Ingredients:
1-2 packs dry fish
3 raw mangoes (peeled)
3 onions (sliced, 1 to boil, 2 for frying)
1-2 green chillies (slit) *optional
salt to taste
vinegar to taste

For grinding:
4-6 dry red chillies (long / round)
2 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp jeera
1 tbsp roasted methi/fenugreek seeds
1 onion
2 flakes garlic
1/2 packet fresh coconut
water

Steps:
  1. Grind the masala to a fine paste and keep aside.

  2. Clean, cut and soak the dry fish in water for half an hour. Drain well. 
  3. In a vessel, heat a few drops of oil. Fry the dry fish lightly.
  4. Add the raw mango and cook for 5 -10 minutes after adding some water.
  5. Add a sliced onion and slit green chillies (optional) and check for salt as desired.
  6. When almost cooked, add the ground masala.
  7. Add a bit of water to the gravy (keep the consistency thick) and bring to a boil.
  8. If you like a slightly sour curry, add vinegar.

  9. In a pan, heat oil. Add 2 sliced onions and fry till brown.
  10. Add it on top once the curry is ready.
