1/2 kg mince
3 tsp + 5 tsp coconut milk powder
lemon juice to taste
1 onion (chopped)
1 egg
salt
To grind:
2" ginger
4 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp jeera
1 onion
3 red chillies
4 cloves
2 green cardamoms
1" cinnamon
Steps:
- In a mixie jar, add the ginger, garlic, jeera, onion, chillies, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon with a little water and grind to a fine paste.
- In a cup, dissolve 3 tsp coconut milk powder with 1 cup warm water and keep aside (thin coconut milk)
- In another cup, dissolve 5 tsp coconut milk powder with 1 cup warm water and keep aside (thick coconut milk)
- Wash the mince, drain well and keep it in a bowl.
- Add an egg and salt and mix well.
- Add 1 tbsp of the sauteed ground masala to the mince (see point 10 below)
- Shape into small round meatballs and keep aside.
- In a vessel, heat oil.
- Add the chopped onion and fry well.
- Add the ground masala and saute.
- Add thin coconut milk and bring to a boil.
- Add the mince balls, cover, and bring to a boil till the curry reduces slightly.
- Add lemon juice.
- Add thick coconut milk and bring to a boil. Switch off the gas.
