Bread Pudding - Maizy aunty

Ingredients:
12-15 slices of bread
2 cups milk
3 eggs
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup cashew nuts (chopped)
1/4 cup almonds (skinned and chopped)
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
5-6 tbsp sugar 
4 tbsp water
ghee

Steps:
  1. In a pan, heat ghee.
  2. Fry the raisins, almond and cashew nuts and keep aside. 
  3. In the same pan, add the sugar with 4 tbsp water. Keep stirring on medium flame till it is caramelized and keep it ready. Be careful not to burn it. 
  4. In a large dish, cut the bread into small pieces.
  5. Add about 2 cups of milk to soak the bread slices.
  6. Add 2 eggs to the mixture and mix well. 
  7. Add the raisins, cashew nuts and almonds and mix well. 
  8. Add the caramelized sugar and mix well. 
  9. In a pressure cooker, add water. Keep a stand/small vessel and place the container on top of the vessel. Cover the lid and steam without putting the whistle/weight for about 15 minutes. Check with a knife/toothpick. If it comes out clean, it is cooked. It should not be sticky. 
  10. Let it cool. Then cut to smaller slices.
