Ingredients:
750 ml red wine2 big cinnamon sticks
2 mandarin/oranges (peeled)
3-4 star anise
3-4 star anise
10-12 cloves
75-100 ml berry juice
2 tbsp cane sugar
2 tbsp cane sugar
agave syrup to sweeten (optional)
Steps:
- Turn on the heat to medium high.
- In a large pot, add the wine, cinnamon sticks, mandarin, star anise, cloves and berry juice.
- Add the cane sugar and continue to boil till it starts to bubble. Don't boil it for too long otherwise, it will taste bitter or the flavor of the spices gets too strong.
- Turn off the gas and move it away from the stovetop/heat.
