Chicken Stew Curry - Benna bai

Ingredients:
1 kg chicken (cut, cleaned and washed)
2 potatoes (cut in cubes)
ghee/oil
salt to taste

To grind:

2 sprigs mint leaves
1 bunch coriander leaves
1 green chili (add more for spice, if desired)
2 long red chilies 
1/2 cup fresh coconut
5 peppercorns
1 tsp tamarind paste
2 tsp jeera
2 cloves garlic
1" ginger
2 big onions (sliced)
1" cinnamon
4 cloves
2 cardamom

Steps:

  1. Grind all the ingredients to a smooth paste. 

  2. Boil the chicken with salt. When half cooked, add the potatoes and boil (don't overcook).

  3. In a vessel, heat ghee/oil. 
  4. Add the ground masala and fry till the oil separates. 
  5. Add the cooked chicken and potatoes and bring to a boil. 
  6. ENJOY!
