Ingredients:
1 can rajma/red kidney beans (rinsed in clean water)1 small onion (chopped)
1 large tomato (finely chopped)
1" ginger
6-8 cloves garlic
2-3 chilies (adjust to your spice level)
1 tbsp red chili powder (adjust to your spice level)
1 tbsp coriander powder
1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
oil
To garnish
coriander leaves (garnish)
green chilis (garnish)
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp garam masala
Steps:
- Roughly chop the ginger, garlic and green chillies and crush together in a mortar and pestle. Don't make it a paste. Keep aside.
- In a kadai, heat oil.
- Add the onion and fry till brown.
- Add the crushed ginger, garlic and chilies and fry well.
- Add the red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric and salt. Fry till the oil separates.
- Add the chopped tomato and mix well. Cook covered till the tomato is cooked.
- Add the rajma and mix well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves, green chilis and garam masala.
- ENJOY!
- If you are using fresh rajma, soak it overnight.
