Ingredients:
6-8 cloves garlic (crushed)
1 onion (sliced)
1 tsp chili sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp hoisin sauce (optional)
1/4 cup chicken stock
1/4 tsp crushed pepper
3-4 tbsp spring onions (chopped)
oil for deep frying
For the marinade:
1 kg chicken legs
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 tbsp chili powder
For the coating:
1 cup all purpose flour/maida
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp crushed pepper
1 egg
Steps:
- Marinate the chicken overnight with salt, pepper powder and chili powder.
- Keep 1 cup of flour aside.
- In a bowl, beat an egg. Then add a pinch of salt and crushed pepper and mix well.
- Before frying the chicken, dip the chicken in the flour, then the egg mixture and in the flour again.
- Add the chicken to the pan and deep fry. Drain excess oil and keep aside.
- In a saucepan, add crushed garlic and fry well.
- Add the sliced onion and fry till pinkish golden.
- Add chili sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce (optional), chicken stock and crushed pepper. Bring it to boil.
- Add chopped spring onions and mix well.
- Add the fried chicken legs and mix well for 3 - 4 minutes.
- Garnish with some spring onions.
