Ingredients
1 kg shevtey/mullet
1 large onion (finely chopped)
2-3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1/2" ginger (finely chopped)
1 green chilli (finely chopped)
1 small tomato (finely chopped)
salt
oil
To grind:
4 short red chillies (motwi mirsaang)
10-12 red byadgi chillies
2 large onions
4 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp jeera
5-6 peppercorns
3 amla size tamarind balls
Steps:
- Grind the chillies, onion, turmeric, jeera, pepper corns and tamarind to a fine paste and keep aside.
- In a vessel, heat oil. Add the onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and green chilli and fry well.
- Add the ground masala and fry.
- Add the ground masala water and bring to a boil.
- Add the shevtey, salt and bring to a boil (shevtey cooks quickly).
- Turn off the gas.
