Ingredients:
500 gms mutton
500 gms green lentils
1 big onion (chopped)
500 gms green lentils
1 big onion (chopped)
1 big carrot (chopped)
1 big potato (chopped)
5-6 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
3 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp pepper powder
salt
3-4 tbsp oil
Steps:
- Soak the green lentils in water for 1-2 hours, drain and keep aside.
- In a large vessel, add the mutton and 3 cups of water. As it boils, remove the foam that forms at the top.
- Boil till the water reduces completely in the vessel.
- In the same vessel, heat oil.
- Add the onions and mix with the mutton. Fry till onions turn golden brown.
- Add the tomato paste and mix well.
- Add the carrots and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the potatoes and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the garlic, chili powder, pepper powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add the green lentils, mix it well.
- Then add 4-5 cups water till the mutton and lentils are completely submerged.
- Cook covered for about an hour on low heat. Stir occasionally.
