Ingredients:
1 large lauki/bottle gourd/ boble (peeled, deseeded and cut in cubes)
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 tsp cumin/jeera seeds
5 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 big onion (finely chopped)
3 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 1/2 tbsp red chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp salt
4 green chillies (sliced)
1 bunch coriander leaves (chopped)
4 tbsp oil
Steps:
- In a bowl, mix together ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder and salt. Add water and mix well till it forms a masala paste.
- In a vessel, heat oil.
- Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and garlic. Fry till garlic turns brown.
- Add onions and cook covered for 5 minutes.
- Add the masala paste and cook covered for 7 minutes.
- Add the lauki and cook covered for 15 minutes.
- Add the coriander leaves and green chillies and turn off the heat. Let it cool for 20 minutes.
- If desired, add yogurt.
