One Pot Mixed Veg Pulao - Oreen

Ingredients: 
1 1/2 cups rice
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
2 tbsp ghee
1/2 cup frozen vegetables
3 cups hot water

Steps:
  1. In a vessel, add ghee, jeera seeds, rice, turmeric, pepper powder and salt. Sauté for 5 minutes on low-medium heat. 
  2. Add the frozen vegetables and hot water and cook covered for 7 minutes, turn off the heat and rest for 5 more minutes. Then fluff up the rice with a fork.
  3. ENJOY! 
Notes:
Variations:
  • Skip the cumin seeds and turmeric. 
  • Add 1 star anise or 1 long cinnamon stick
