2-3 tbsp ghee
1/2 onion (sliced)
10 cups of water
To grind:
1 tsp jeera
1 small piece ginger
4 tsp ghee
15 pepper corns
5 pods cardamom
5 onions
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp jeera

Steps:
- Clean, cut and cook trotters in plenty of water.
- Grind the masala to a fine paste. Keep aside.
- In a vessel, heat ghee.
- Add the sliced onion and fry well.
- Add the ground masala and fry till brown.
- Then add tamarind water, salt to taste and the cooked trotters.
- Simmer for an hour till gravy is thick.
