Ingredients:
To boil then grind to a paste
1 medium onion (chopped)
4 cloves garlic
1" ginger
1 tomato
1 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
2 green chillis
1 cup water
For the gravy:
1 tbsp ghee
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp salt
2 cups frozen peas
6 chunks of spinach (frozen)
1 tbsp ghee
Milk cream or 4 tbsp thick coconut milk
Steps:
- To a vessel, add onion, garlic, ginger, tomato, cumin seeds and green chillis with 1 cup water. Boil until tomato is cooked. Grind this to a paste. Keep it ready.
- In a pan, heat ghee. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt. Fry the masalas lightly.
- Add the ground paste. Fry for 1 minute.
- Add 2 cups of frozen peas and 6 chunks of frozen spinach or fried paneer and let it cook on medium heat.
- Add milk cream or 4 tbsp of coconut milk powder and one more cup of water. Bring to a simmer.
- Add 1 tsp of pepper and adjust salt if needed.
