Ingredients:
1 cup dried prawns/galmbi
1 red onion (finely chopped)
1/2 lime - juice
2 cups grated coconut
To grind:
1/2 red onion
8 byadgi chillies
1" ginger
1 marble size tamarind or 1/2 tsp tamarind paste
1 tsp salt
Steps:
- Grind the red onion, dried chillies, ginger, tamarind and salt till it is coarse, just a few seconds. Keep it ready.
- Dry roast 1 cup of dry galmbi until golden brown.
- Transfer the ground masala to a large bowl.
- Add juice of half a small fresh lime.
- Add the chopped onion and mix it with the masala.
- Add the galmbi and check for salt, adjust if needed.
- Lastly, add grated coconut and mix it well.
