Recipe by Chrysl Castelino
Ingredients:
1 kg fish (pomfret or king fish)
1 potato *(Optional)
1 onion (fried till golden)
1 cup thick coconut milk
To grind:
To first powder:
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
1/2 tsp pepper corns
Grind with the above powdered ingredients:
1/2" ginger
3-4 cloves garlic
1-2 green chillis
1 cup coriander leaves
2 tbsp grated coconut
1/2 medium onion
marble size tamarind
Steps:
- Grind the masala and set aside.
- Fry an onion till golden. Set aside.
- In a vessel, heat oil.
- Add the ground masala and fry well.
- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Add the fish and cook. Add the potatoes now if desired.
- Add salt to taste.
- Add the thick coconut milk. Bring to a boil.
- Garnish with fried onion.
- ENJOY!
